FEATURED B-BOYS & B-GIRLS

Richard 'Crazy Legs' Colón joined Rock Steady Crew in 1977 and propelled it into an international phenomenon. He invented the continuous backspin and the W-spin, catapulting breaking from the asphalt of the South Bronx into international cinemas with Wild Style, Style Wars, and Beat Street.

Known across the globe as 'The Epitome of a B-Boy', Ken Swift defined the aesthetics, terminology, and foundational downrock technique that modern breaking rests upon. His appearance in Beat Street and worldwide clinics codified the international standard of b-boy style.

Steffan 'Mr. Wiggles' Clemente is a living monument to hip-hop culture, being a pivotal member of both Rock Steady Crew and The Electric Boogaloos as well as legendary graffiti crew TC5. He bridges b-boy foundation with the funk styles of popping and locking.

Kim Heon-woo, known as Wing, captured the 2008 Red Bull BC One World Championship in Paris and helped Jinjo Crew achieve the historic Grand Slam. His signature 'Wing-mills' and velvet-smooth transitions make him one of the cleanest, most complete breakers in history.

Kim Heon-jun is the founding captain of Jinjo Crew and older brother of Wing. Skim transformed Jinjo from a local South Korean crew into the undisputed Grand Slam champions of world breaking, orchestrating legendary routines that revolutionized crew battles worldwide.

Jang Ji-kwang, better known as Vero, is Jinjo Crew's premiere power weapon. Renowned for his fearless high-altitude airflares and clutch routine moments at Battle of the Year and UK B-Boy Championships, Vero brings unstoppable kinetic force to every battle.

THE 7 ERAS OF BREAKING HISTORY — INTERACTIVE TIME CAPSULE
THE BRONX BLOCK PARTY GENESIS & MERRY-GO-ROUND
1520 Sedgwick Avenue, DJ Kool Herc & The First B-Boys and B-Girls
On August 11, 1973, at 1520 Sedgwick Avenue in the West Bronx, DJ Kool Herc isolated the percussive drum "breaks" of funk records using two turntables and his "Merry-Go-Round" technique. The dancers who waited specifically for the break section to hit the floor became known as Break-Boys (B-Boys) and Break-Girls (B-Girls), laying down the earliest toprock, floor rock, and freeze foundations.
- ▸DJ Kool Herc invents the Merry-Go-Round breakbeat extension in the Bronx (1973).
- ▸First-generation Bronx pioneers (Trixie, Wallace Dee, Dancing Doug, Spy, Batch, Trac 2) expand floorwork from upright drops into continuous downrock.
- ▸Brooklyn Uprock (Burning) merges with Bronx breaking, introducing competitive battle gestures (jerks, burns, and Apache lines).
