CRAZY LEGS

Richard Colón (President, Rock Steady Crew) • Pioneer of the Continuous Backspin & W-Spin, Star of Style Wars & Beat Street

📍 The Bronx, NY • ACTIVE SINCE 1977

Richard 'Crazy Legs' Colón joined Rock Steady Crew in 1977 and propelled it into an international phenomenon. He invented the continuous backspin and the W-spin, catapulting breaking from the asphalt of the South Bronx into international cinemas with Wild Style, Style Wars, and Beat Street.

“Breaking isn't about doing tricks for applause. It's about taking the concrete you were given and turning it into gold on the beat.”
